One traditional management practice that attribute to the disruption of business operation that leads to heckle opportunities is the resistance to technological change. However, today’s CEOs deviate from this practice. Great leaders work against the culture of the company instead of leading it, especially if it does not manifest any benefit.

Interestingly, Microsoft was founded as an organization that believes in making people more productive through its simple software products (eg. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, etc) so that they could achieve their potential.

With the right tools, people were able to do their job efficiently and effectively relative to the absence of automation. Not to mention, employees who have routinary jobs have not able to get a chance to learn more skills. The present leaders today look after their people by allowing them to discover their skills. They adopt management practices that prioritize in empowering their people.

Sam Walton, CEO Wal-Mart, believe that when you look after your people, they will look after you. Sam was known with his leadership style which is transformational leadership. It is a type of leadership wherein leaders strengthen their connection with their followers by promoting teamwork, motivation, ownership within an organization.

He saw promising results when he recognized and appreciated the work of his people. His people became more efficient and were able to work passionately. After all, it is more difficult to quit values than quitting your job.

“Investing in our employees. This starts with compensating them fairly and providing important benefits. It also includes supporting them through training and education that help develop new skills for a rapidly changing world. We foster diversity and inclusion, dignity ,and respect,” Jack Kelly stated in the report of Forbes.

Employment engagement stimulates value creation within the company. Thus, modern CEOs prioritize their people than profit. Valuing employees is today’s best management practice that will enable the business to become successful. The more that you value your people, the more they are motivated to give back to your company.
